Welcome To Mitzvah Music
Sharing the joy of music with those in need of comfort and healing.
At Mitzvah Music, we believe in the profound and time-honored ability of music to heal, uplift, and connect.
From ancient philosophers like Aristotle and Plato to modern clinical researchers, music has long been recognized as a powerful therapeutic tool. Historically we know that people across every strata of society found solace in music — and today, that same spirit lives on in our work.
We provide live, therapeutic musical performances in hospitals, nursing homes, cancer wards, private homes and other appropriate environments. These are not concerts in the traditional sense — they are shared, restorative experiences designed by our team to bring joy and comfort to those who need it most. Whenever possible. we invite family and friends to share these special moments with their loved ones.
We also offer appropriate music education for individuals on the autism spectrum , from children to adults.
Our repertoire spans a rich and inclusive musical landscape: from classical to jazz, from Tin Pan Alley to the Great American Songbook. We often customize our performance to include children’s songs, ethnic music and nostalgic pop hits and beloved standards when appropriate. We aim to stir memories, create connections, and engage listeners with familiarity and warmth.
Mitzvah Music exists to:
Bring live, meaningful music into care settings where joy, connection, and emotional release are most needed.
Offer thoughtfully curated programs that resonate across generations, cultures, and personal histories.
Use music to support well-being, spark reminiscence, and create shared moments of peace and humanity.
We’re not just filling rooms with sound — we’re creating spaces for healing, comfort, and joy through the universal language of music.
Healing through the power of music…
Who We Are
With a lifetime of study, performance and experience behind us, we are committed to the highest levels of artistry and therapeutic engagement.

Executive Director
Artie Bressler is an internationally known saxophonist, composer, and producer. Throughout his distinguished career, he was also recognized as an educator and mentor to his students, from beginners to professionals.
What Artie brings to TMMF is an extraordinary knowledge of the music of the 20th and 21st centuries. From Ragtime and Dixieland, Swing and Bee-Bop, and from Blues to Soul to Rock and Roll, he has met and played with many of the well-known players in each of these genres. This knowledge is particularly helpful for designing the musical profiles for each patient or group of patients.
At this point in his career, Artie is focused on dedicating his experience and talent to use the therapeutic powers of music to do good deeds as often as possible.
